Whitestone Research Announces Groundbreaking New Building Operations Cost Reference

Santa Barbara, CA – August 21, 2007 - From individual landlords to managers of government properties world-wide, the costs of providing a safe and productive workplace is largely unknown. The Whitestone Building Operations Cost Reference 2007-2008 provides a new analytical view of operations costs, one intended to replace ad hoc approximation or ill-suited surveys.

Cost statistics are presented for 56 building types in 210 major U.S. and Canadian metropolitan areas. Cost data is included for three service levels for facility costs common to commercial and federal accounting: custodial service, energy, grounds, maintenance & repair, management, pest control, refuse disposal, road clearance, security, telecommunications, and water & sewer. Also included are unique local and national cost indices.

Over three years in development and tested with many of the largest U.S. real estate portfolios, the new Whitestone Building Operations Cost Reference 2007-2008 will become a primary resource for anyone responsible for anticipating and justifying building operation costs.

Also available from Whitestone is a companion work, the Whitestone Building Maintenance and Repair Cost Reference 2007-2008. Now in its 12th annual edition, this book provides a detailed repair and component replacement costs for the same 56 building models used in the Whitestone Building Operations Cost Reference 2007-2008. Maintenance cost data is provided for over 1,000 building components.
