Whitestone Announces Software Version Upgrade: MARS 6 Now Available
SANTA BARBARA, CA - August 31, 2005 - Whitestone Research recently released version 6 of the MARS Facility Maintenance Cost Forecast System. This version of MARS includes enhanced asset tracking, calibration for safety & security requirements, and data import capability. All cost data has been revised for 2005-2006.
MARS 6 is the current version of Whitestone’s popular tool for forecasting maintenance and repair costs and projecting facility funding requirements. Adopted by many government agencies, corporations, and large individual facilities, MARS is increasingly used to estimate deferred maintenance based on component life cycle cost principles. Actual experience has shown MARS estimates fall within 10 percent of traditional assessment inspections, at less than half the cost.
MARS meets Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) Standard Number 6, U.S. Department of Energy Memorandum 430.1B, and Executive Order 13327 deferred maintenance reporting requirements.
Current MARS users can upgrade by contacting Marcel Rivera at mrivera at whitestoneresearch.com or calling 800 210-0137. Prospective users should contact us to schedule a full on-line demonstration of MARS 6 features. Learn more about MARS 6 at www.whitestoneresearch.com.
