Whitestone Report: Maintenance and Repair Funding Benchmarks Prepared for a Typical California County Government
SANTA BARBARA, CA - December 1, 1998 - Maintenance costs for all facilities maintained by a representative California county government were estimated to range from 2.1 percent of replacement value in the short-term, to 2.3 percent in the long-term, according to a recent Whitestone Research study. There were 56 buildings in the county government facility inventory with a total of 5.325 million gross square feet of building space.
According to Peter Lufkin, Whitestone Vice President, "This provides a good example of a technology - the MARS life cycle cost modeling - that is a vast improvement over survey data. Using MARS we can replicate this study for any building type, in any city in the U.S."
